About
I am an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist who specializes in treating adults with voice and upper airway disorders. I also a exercise physiologist and I recently earned my PhD in Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Science. I am currently a Mancosh Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Communication at Northwestern University.
My research is at the intersection of exercise science and voice science and it seeks to identify the role of metabolism in healthy and disordered voice to advance our understanding of the metabolic adaptations that may be occurring within the voice musculature as a result of behavioral voice intervention. I am also passionate about seeking equity and justice in healthcare, specifically as it relates to providing quality behavioral voice and upper airway services to historically marginalized and disenfranchised communities.
If you’ve read this far, thank you. I look forward to sharing my work and building a community of inquisitive students and clinicians (and honestly anyone) interested in these topics.
